The Indonesia Development Monitoring (IDM) survey institute has revealed that public satisfaction with Polri services reaches 81.2%. Other survey results indicate that 75.1% of respondents are satisfied with Polri’s law enforcement. The IDM survey employed multistage random sampling, with data collection conducted from 7 to 20 April 2026. A total of 1,580 respondents from 34 provinces across Indonesia participated in this survey. All respondents were aged between 17 and 65 years, comprising men and women selected randomly to represent the national population. The survey method was conducted face-to-face. The margin of error for this survey is ±2.47%. The survey results show that 81.2% of respondents are satisfied with Polri’s performance in public services, such as issuing driving licences, handling reports, and assisting with traffic flow, especially during holidays and the homecoming programme, while 16.6% are not satisfied or dissatisfied, and 2.2% did not respond. “Regarding law enforcement by Polri, 75.1% of respondents are also satisfied with Polri’s performance, including efforts to eradicate gambling, human trafficking, drugs, economic crimes, hoarding of fuel and food, etc., while 20.7% are dissatisfied with Polri’s performance, and 4.2% did not respond,” said IDM Executive Director Dedi Rohman in his statement on Friday (8/5/2026). Furthermore, Polri’s performance in creating a sense of security among the public and trust in law enforcers also shows positive assessments of Polri’s performance. Survey results on the indicator ‘Feeling safe walking outside one’s home at night’ indicate that 88.7% of respondents feel safe walking at night outside the home. Regarding Polri’s internal oversight, with information obtained by the public from social media and mainstream media, 76.7% of respondents are satisfied with Polri’s performance in internal oversight of members who violate rules, while 20.4% are dissatisfied, and 2.9% did not respond. The level of public trust in Polri’s performance is 79.2%, an accumulation of the very trusting and trusting categories. This figure indicates a positive trend, where public trust in the Bhayangkara Corps continues to recover. “This is the level of trust post the unrest that occurred in August 2025. Now, the image and public satisfaction with Polri’s performance are strengthening again in the eyes of the public,” said Dedi. The results of this Polri performance survey correlate with public satisfaction with the performance of President Prabowo Subianto’s government, with 80.7% of respondents satisfied with Prabowo’s performance, where Polri contributes to the success of food security and MBG programmes, as well as fuel availability throughout Indonesia. In addition, the survey results show that 52.3% of respondents are aware of the police’s role in the food security programme initiated by Prabowo, while 45.2% are unaware of Polri’s role in the food security programme, and the remainder 2.5% did not respond. As many as 78.7% of respondents positively appreciate Polri’s participation in the food security programme. 17.4% somewhat appreciate less and state that it is not Polri’s task or the police role is outside its main function, and the remainder 3.9% did not respond. The survey also found that respondents give positive assessments of Polri’s active role in the MBG programme. 83.8% of respondents appreciate Polri’s involvement in enhancing the humane image through food quality oversight (food security) and orderly distribution, especially through SPPG. Meanwhile, 13.8% somewhat appreciate less Polri’s involvement in the MBG programme, and 2.4% did not respond.
