IDM and BTN Collaborate to Support Development of Cultural Heritage Destinations
This collaboration represents a strategic step in strengthening the development of the national tourism sector based on cultural heritage, while also promoting creative economy growth.
Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko, or InJourney Destination Management (IDM), has forged a collaboration with Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) to support the strategic development of cultural heritage destinations.
The collaboration was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IDM and BTN, held in the Prambanan Temple Park area on Thursday.
The signing was conducted by IDM’s President Director Febrina Intan and BTN’s President Director Nixon L P Napitupulu.
“This collaboration is a strategic step in strengthening the development of the national tourism sector based on cultural heritage, while also promoting creative economy growth,” said IDM President Director Febrina Intan.
“This collaboration is a tangible manifestation of inter-BUMN orchestration in strengthening Indonesia’s positioning as a world-class cultural tourism destination. We are not only presenting destinations but building an ecosystem of experiences that connects spirituality, culture, and natural beauty in a complete and meaningful journey,” she added.
She further stated that this synergy is expected to support the acceleration of tourism transformation towards a more integrated, inclusive model based on values.
“The trust built today becomes the foundation for creating tourism that is not only globally competitive but also delivers sustainable economic and social impacts for society,” she said.
According to her, in recent years, BTN has actively participated in various cultural activations at destinations managed by IDM, including events such as Swara Prambanan and Pasar Medang, as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting the tourism ecosystem and creative economy.
“BTN views tourism and culture as important catalysts in national economic growth,” she said.
She explained that BTN’s involvement so far in various activities at IDM destinations shows that this collaboration is not merely a new initiative but a continuation of long-term commitment to supporting cultural preservation as well as empowering local economic actors, including artists and SMEs.
According to her, as a financial institution, BTN wants to ensure that tourism sector growth is accompanied by strengthening community economies.
“Support for cultural activities, art attractions, and SME development is part of long-term social and economic investment,” she said.
The MoU signing ceremony was enlivened by a performance of the Rampak Anoman Rewanda Seta dance, representing courage, loyalty, and spirit in delivering mandates and values aligned with the foundation of the established collaboration.
In addition, the collaboration is directed towards developing activities relevant to current tourism trends, especially for the younger generation, through spiritual and wellness programmes such as the Lantern Festival and Move at the Temple.
On the other hand, support is also provided for regular cultural arts attractions in the destination areas, including the Ramayana Ballet Prambanan, Roro Jonggrang performance, and Shinta Obong, as part of efforts to maintain the sustainability of traditional performing arts while strengthening the destination’s appeal.
Similar collaborations will also be implemented at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) through various events and public activations such as the Pecinan Festival, Jelajah Ramadhan, TMII Anniversary, Kumpul Bocah, Goyang Lidah, and Independence Day People’s Festival, which are expected to expand market reach and increase community engagement.
Through this partnership, BTN targets the expansion of its customer base, particularly from the young generation and family segments, while creating added value for SMEs and communities around the destinations.
