REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BEIRUT – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Tuesday (31/3/2026) issued a statement responding to the deaths of three TNI personnel who were part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The three TNI personnel died in two separate incidents in southern Lebanon, near the Israeli border.

In a statement on Telegram, the IDF stated that the incidents are being “thoroughly reviewed to clarify the circumstances and determine whether the incidents were caused by Hezbollah activities or IDF activities,” quoted from the Independent.

The IDF also explained that the events occurred in a war zone involving both parties. Therefore, they requested that no assumptions be made regarding the responsible party.

“It should be noted that these incidents occurred in an active combat area. Therefore, it should not be assumed that the incidents in which UNIFIL soldiers were injured were caused by the IDF,” the IDF said.
