Identity of Man Electrocuted at LRT Substation: Long Grey Hair and Unrecognizable Face
South Jakarta municipal police (Satpol PP) have disclosed the physical characteristics of an unidentified man (Mr. X) found dead after being electrocuted at a PLN substation in the Pancoran LRT Station area, South Jakarta. The victim was first discovered on Tuesday night (1/9).
“Mr. X is suspected to be a male with long, grey hair and a face that is no longer recognisable,” said South Jakarta Satpol PP Chief Nanto Dwi Subekti when contacted in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Nanto added that the victim was last seen wearing a blue sweater and jeans.
The discovery began when residents and traders near the location grew suspicious after smelling an unpleasant odour around the electrical substation supporting LRT operations. Two witnesses, responding to the residents’ complaints, inspected the surrounding area and opened the PLN substation door. Inside the substation room, the witnesses found a sack and blood droplets.
“After an initial check by the witnesses, the substation door was opened, revealing a human body that was lifeless, suspected to have been electrocuted,” said Nanto.
The discovery was immediately reported to the Pancoran Police Sector. Satpol PP officers, along with arriving police personnel, secured the crime scene, recorded witness statements, and conducted a forensic investigation.
From the initial examination, the joint team secured several pieces of evidence near the victim’s body, including one white sack, a hacksaw, and a hat belonging to the victim.
To facilitate the evacuation of the body, the electricity supply to the LRT support substation was temporarily shut down. Authorities ensured that this emergency measure did not disrupt the overall operation of the LRT trains. The case is currently being handled by the Pancoran Police Sector for further identification processes.
