Identities of Two Fallen Soldiers in Lebanon: Captain Zulmi Aditya and Sergeant Nur Ichwan
Two TNI soldiers serving as part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) have been reported killed due to an Israeli attack. The TNI has disclosed their identities. “The fallen TNI soldiers are named Captain (Inf) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar and Sergeant Muhammad Nur Ichwan,” said the Head of the TNI Headquarters Information Centre, Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, as quoted by Antara on Tuesday (31/3/2026). Aulia explained that the two TNI soldiers were killed while carrying out a mission to escort a UNIFIL vehicle to a specific point. During the journey, the vehicle driven by the TNI troops exploded, resulting in fatalities. “The explosion occurred on the vehicle, leading to the soldiers’ deaths,” said Aulia. Two Soldiers Also Sustained Injuries. In addition, Aulia stated that two other TNI soldiers, named Lieutenant (Inf) Sulthan Wirdean Maulana and Private Deni Rianto, sustained injuries from the attack. As of now, Aulia could not provide detailed information on the cause of the explosion in the vehicle driven by the TNI soldiers. He assured that the TNI would await the results of the UNIFIL investigation to uncover the cause of the explosion. “To determine the cause of the incident, UNIFIL is currently conducting an investigation. The TNI is also continuously monitoring the situation’s developments and preparing contingency measures in response to the dynamics in the Lebanon mission area,” said Aulia. With this incident, the total number of TNI soldiers who have died while carrying out humanitarian missions in Lebanon now stands at three.
