Identities of Acid Attack Perpetrator on Andrie Yunus Differ Between Police and TNI Versions; Kompolnas Response

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The identities of the executors in the acid attack on KontraS Deputy Coordinator Andrie Yunus, as released by Polda Metro Jaya and TNI Military Police Headquarters, differ. Polda Metro Jaya revealed two perpetrators captured on CCTV with initials BHC and MAK. Meanwhile, TNI’s Puspom stated there are four perpetrators: NDP with the rank of captain, and three others with initials Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW, and Sergeant ES. In response to these differences, Kompolnas Chairman Choirul Anam assessed that the police have been sufficiently objective by presenting investigation results in the form of CCTV footage. In the displayed video, the perpetrators’ faces are clearly visible. The police then identified two individuals suspected as the executors based on police data. Anam stated that his side also participated in analysing the video recording. He emphasised that the legal process will proceed as it should, regardless of the perpetrators’ status. “Whoever is behind this incident, when facing the law, if the facts are strong and the evidence is strong, they must be processed to the maximum,” he said. Meanwhile, Director of General Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Pol Iman Imanudin, affirmed that his side will collaborate with TNI to track down the suspects. “We from Polda Metro Jaya will later collaborate with TNI to integrate findings from investigation facts,” he said during a press conference. Previously reported, four members of TNI’s Strategic Intelligence Agency (Bais) have been named suspects in the alleged acid attack case against KontraS Deputy Coordinator for the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence, Andrie Yunus. So far, the four perpetrators have been detained at Puspom TNI. However, they will subsequently be handed over to Pomdam Jaya. “And regarding the detention location, we will carry out detention handed over to Pomdam Jaya, where there is a Super Security Maximum detention facility, we will hand them over there,” he emphasised. In this regard, Yusri revealed the four initials and ranks of the perpetrators. “Captain NDP, Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW, and Sergeant ES,” he disclosed.
