PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI continues to strengthen its role in advancing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through mentoring programmes, business capacity building, and opening wider market access. One business owner who has felt these benefits is IDEacraft, a home decor MSME from Semarang City established in 2019, which now markets its products through social media, hotel galleries, and rest areas in Central Java. IDEacraft owner Swabawa Arif Wicaksono explained that his business was born from a desire to present unique and saleable home decor products. His interest in the art world became the starting point for IDEacraft’s journey in producing various home decor products that blend aesthetics and function. “The idea to start IDEacraft came from a painting hobby and seeing the opportunity to create beautiful, unique, and saleable home decor products. This business began with capital of around Rp300,000 and a tool for making candles. From the sales of those initial products, the profits obtained were continuously reinvested as business capital for approximately four years,” said Swabawa. Over time, IDEacraft continued to develop its product range, from teapot lamps, batik-painted teapots, cookie jars, to hand soap bottles which became the most sought-after products by customers. By prioritising unique designs with high aesthetic value while remaining competitively priced, IDEacraft products now reach markets across various areas of Central Java. Swabawa then joined BRI’s Rumah BUMN, enabling IDEacraft to strengthen its business capacity while opening up wider market development opportunities. “I decided to join because Rumah BUMN BRI provides various facilities that support business development, ranging from training, curation programmes through BRIncubator, market access through Rumah BUMN galleries and UMKM EXPO(RT), to support in connecting with financial services such as BRImo, EDC, QRIS, as well as access to KUR and commercial credit financing,” he added. Furthermore, product curation through BRIncubator and the opportunity to participate in the BRI UMKM EXPO(RT) increased product exposure to more diverse potential buyers. To support business operations, IDEacraft also utilises BRImo, QRIS BRI, and BRI merchant services to provide transaction convenience, real-time payment notifications, and fast and practical fund disbursement. As of the end of March 2026, BRI has fostered 54 Rumah BUMN across Indonesia and organised more than 18,000 training sessions to enhance the capacity and competitiveness of MSMEs. Rumah BUMN BRI continues to open learning access, expand business networks, and create wider market opportunities for MSME players. On a separate occasion, BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny stated that IDEacraft’s journey demonstrates how consistently developed creativity can become an economically valuable business opportunity. According to him, the ability to present unique products and consistency in improving business capacity are important factors in strengthening MSME competitiveness. “IDEacraft shows that creativity combined with perseverance can produce unique products with added value. The ability to utilise various business development opportunities, from capacity building to expanding market access, is an important factor in strengthening MSME competitiveness. BRI will continue to present various empowerment programmes that help MSME players improve their business capacity, expand business development opportunities, and encourage more MSMEs to scale up,” concluded Dhanny.
