IDAI Calls for Stricter Supervision to Prevent Violence in Daycares

Violence against children in childcare facilities or daycares has occurred again at Daycare Little Aresha in Yogyakarta and Daycare Baby Preneur in Banda Aceh. In response, the Indonesian Paediatric Society (IDAI) expressed deep concern over the violence experienced by the victims at both daycares and called for stricter supervision. IDAI’s Chair of the Working Group on Growth and Development and Social Paediatrics, Fitri Hartanto, noted that the government has long had good child protection guidelines, but supervision must be tightened further.
