We all deeply regret the recent Kramatjati and Pasar Anyar
tragedies in which dozens of people were burned to death. Worse
still that the victims were unidentifiable as their identity
cards had turned to ash.

It might be worthwhile issuing metal identity cards, with the
holder's name and ID number embossed. In case of similar
tragedies, the victims could still be identified.
