ICMI's program

We all know what ICMI stands for Ikatan Cendekiawan Muslim
Indonesia (Association of Indonesian Moslem Intellectuals). As a
Moslem I would like to raise a question: What is ICMI's program?
And what is the influence of ICMI on the Moslem technocrats in
this world.

It is a fact that Moslem countries (in the Middle East) are
rich in oil. So are Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.
Besides, the latter are also rich in minerals. But if we study
more deeply, the Moslem countries are lagging behind in science
and technology. Moslem scientists are small in number, but
religious preachers are in abundance. They are mere consumers of
science and technology.

It is time ICMI considered the need for drawing up a clear-cut
program in which science and technology get more allocation in
the school curriculum.
