NEW DELHI (AFP): Business and investment opportunities in Asia will be the focus of a major conference to be staged here next month by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the organizers said yesterday.
About 200 delegates from overseas will join 400 Indian counterparts at the two-day conference starting March 27, the theme of which would be "Dynamic Asia: Event of the Decade," the Indian national committee of the ICC said in a statement here.
Delegates will review the performance of Asian countries in creating a friendly climate for foreign investment by reducing government intervention and offering tax breaks and other incentives.
The spread of deregulation and privatization and new market challenges and opportunities in the continent will be discussed.
Delegates will assess prospects for stronger commercial ties between North America and the Pacific Rim countries as the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum develops.
