BEIJING, KOMPAS.com – iCar has revealed the key behind its rapid expansion into various global markets, despite being a relatively young brand in the electric vehicle sector.

This brand under the Chery Group umbrella was officially established in April 2023 and has been positioned as a global brand from the outset.

This means the strategy implemented does not linger in the domestic market but is directly prepared to penetrate various regions with a uniform approach.

Entering 2026, iCar’s movements are becoming even more aggressive, with entry into Indonesia as Southeast Asia’s largest automotive market, before continuing to the Middle East with the introduction of the V27, scheduled for official launch in May 2026.

iCar CEO, Dr Su Jun, stated that the key to this rapid movement lies in the application of a consistent global standard across all business lines, from research and development (R&D), manufacturing, to vehicle features and protection.

“Many people ask, how can iCar move so quickly into global markets? Honestly, the answer is really simple,” said Su Jun during a press conference at the Beijing Auto Show 2026, China, on Friday (24/4/2026).

Although embracing a global standard, its implementation is still tailored to the needs of each country. This approach allows iCar to maintain quality consistency while remaining relevant to local market characteristics.

“We always maintain global standards but for each country, we execute locally,” he said.

This strategy has proven effective. The V23 model has received positive responses in Southeast Asia, while the V27 is beginning to build its image in the Middle East. This cross-regional success forms an important foundation for subsequent expansion steps.

“The success of the V27 in the Middle East and V23 in Southeast Asia is inseparable from our global car philosophy. We are now ready to go much further,” said Su Jun.

“Today, we are responding to the needs of a global market that can move quickly. And I am proud to announce the launch of the V27 for the global market, right-hand drive,” he said.

With a foundation as a global brand from the start, a consistent standard strategy, and adaptive local execution, iCar demonstrates that new players can move quickly and competitively in the global automotive industry.
