iCAR Accelerates with V25 and V29 Preparations, ROBOX Paves Way for Autonomous Vehicles
Wuhu - Chery’s sub-brand, iCAR, is heating up its expansion plans through a series of new models set to launch in the coming years. Not only is iCAR expanding its line of electric SUVs, but it is also venturing into the development of AI-based autonomous vehicles. This signal emerged at the Chery International Business Summit 2026, where the company revealed its roadmap. The focus is no longer just on expanding models but also on shifting towards smarter and more connected vehicles. At the top, the V29 will arrive as the flagship. This model is projected to bring the most comprehensive technology, while strengthening iCAR’s image in the premium electric SUV class with a rugged character. This approach shows that iCAR will not abandon its design formula. The boxy style will be retained because it is considered to have a strong identity and relevance in various markets. In addition, iCAR’s CTO, Ma Yongdong, stated that the company is also beginning to develop the X-series, focused on intelligent mobility based on technology. The ROBOX concept serves as the opener for this direction. More than just an electric vehicle, ROBOX is designed as a technology platform with AI integration and L4-level autonomous systems. This means that in the future, the vehicle will not only be driven but can also take over driving functions in certain conditions. Beyond the vehicles, iCAR is also preparing equally important support. Global service networks and customisation options will be expanded to strengthen the user experience. This step shows that iCAR is not just chasing sales but building a foundation for a broader mobility ecosystem.
