Bung Hatta was a fatherly figure who had a broad outlook, was
steadfast and displayed self-control. It was proven when he
resigned from the vice presidency, as he was in disagreement with
Bung Karno, the first president of the Republic of Indonesia. He
then provided his children with a good education. His daughters
Meuthia, Gemala and Halida respectively have all completed their
postgraduate education.

As a daughter of the country's politician, Meuthia should take
part in practical politics and nominate herself as a presidential
candidate after the 2004 general election. The family should also
own shares in Bung Hatta University. Don't let the name of Bung
Hatta be exploited by a few people who are only interested in
corruption, collusion and nepotism.

well preserved and taken care of by both the government and the
