The Indonesia Bureaucracy and Service Watch (IBSW) has praised President Prabowo Subianto’s firm stand in mitigating export leakage, a move that Danantara Indonesia has translated into tangible action. Nova Andika, chairman of IBSW, said the commitment signals a strong transformation toward a more transparent and accountable national trade governance framework.

Nova stressed that President Prabowo’s discussions of economic leakages are not merely political rhetoric. This was demonstrated by the launch of an integrated digital export monitoring system designed to close gaps in data manipulation within trade that have previously cost the state billions.

‘The President’s speech was immediately followed by concrete steps through a modern export surveillance system. This marks an important moment for improving national economic governance,’ Nova said in a statement on Thursday (21/05/2026).

Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Investment and Hilirisasi and also Chief Executive Officer of Danantara, previously outlined a new supervisory framework entitled One Platform, Multiple Benefit. The system is designed to eradicate under invoicing and transfer pricing practices that have long parasited national wealth.

Under government direction, the implementation timeline for the export monitoring system is as follows: ‘In early January 2027, we will apply these transactions through our platform. The aim is that the world is happy, Indonesians are happier,’ Rosan said on Wednesday (20/05).

Market optimism about bureaucratic reform and economic oversight began to appear in exchange rate movements. Nova noted a modest firming in the rupiah against the US dollar following the announcement of these reforms.

Nova added that the positive market response is evidence of public trust in the government’s seriousness. He praised Rosan Roeslani’s swift execution of President Prabowo’s vision.

‘We laud Mr Rosan’s total dedication in supporting the President’s directive to halt national revenue leakage from the commodity sector. With real-time monitoring systems, practices that erode national wealth can be kept to a minimum,’ he said.

IBSW hopes the policy will be consistently implemented to increase state revenue and strengthen the integrity of Indonesia’s trade system in the eyes of the international community. (Z-1)

Prabowo Subianto’s spokesperson Bahtra Banong assessed the President’s remarks as paying tribute and thanks to PDIP and Megawati Sukarnoputri for reconciliation. Prabowo also said he often feels moved by criticisms from PDIP cadres.
