IBRA's model restructuring
IBRA's model restructuring
The restructuring of the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency
(IBRA) is a preliminary step worth observing. Normally, the
restructuring of an organization in Indonesia is based on micro,
instead of macro, approaches so that the result is far from the
expectations of the people.
Hopefully, IBRA's new organizational structure would be able
to fulfill the need and help decision-makers have better
knowledge of strategic aspects, planning methods and ways of
restructuring an organization. Many state enterprises and large
firms are still profit-oriented and are unaware of the importance
of organizational structure.
Decision-makers who have little knowledge of organizational
structure have often interpreted it as an organizational chart
which has no significant meaning for the organization.
Organizational changes will "hurt" managers or members of the
organization who do not understand the dynamics of an
organization.
The time has come for us to concentrate on adaptive
organization, meaning that vital components of organization can
balance the dynamics of change.
