IBF names hosts for
2006, 2007 events.

JAKARTA: The International Badminton Federation (IBF) named
the hosts for the 2006 IBF World Championships and the 2007 mixed
team Sudirman Cup during its council meeting at the Jakarta
Convention Center here on Sunday.

With the bidding cities making presentations at the meeting,
Madrid beat Aarhus, Denmark, for the 2006 championships to be
staged in August, while Glasgow won the 2007 Sudirman Cup
scheduled for May.

The 2005 World Championships will take place in Anaheim, U.S.
in August, and the World Championships are to be staged next May
in Beijing.

In 2006, Kyoto in Japan will host the next Thomas and Uber
Cups. --JP
