Ibas Encourages Humanistic Law Enforcement on 80th Bhayangkara Day

Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono (Ibas) attended the 80th Bhayangkara Day ceremony and thanksgiving at the Brimob Corps headquarters in Cikeas, West Java, on Wednesday. During the event, Ibas urged the Indonesian National Police to continue strengthening professionalism and humanistic law enforcement.

Ibas stated that the commemoration of Bhayangkara Day is not merely an annual ceremonial agenda for state apparatus. He stressed that this historical moment serves as a crucial reminder of the police’s strategic function in maintaining security and public order across the country. He underlined that a conducive domestic situation is a non-negotiable prerequisite for the smooth running of macro development programmes, accelerating economic growth, and realising equitable public welfare.

He expressed hope that the police force would continue to optimise its performance in administrative services and field operations. He noted that the foundation of their work must be rooted in transparency, accountability, and fair handling in the eyes of the public. Ibas also conveyed his highest respect to all Bhayangkara personnel on duty, especially those serving on the front lines and in the nation’s border areas, stating that strong synergy is the most valuable social capital for maintaining national unity and strengthening regional resilience against various potential threats.
