Ibas Discusses Equitable Village Development
For him, regional progress must not be halted merely by distance. He emphasised that village infrastructure development is not just about road construction projects, but a long-term investment to improve the quality of life for communities.
It should be noted that Ibas returned to his constituency in Pacitan to inaugurate the connecting road infrastructure between Ngile Village and Bubakan Village through the Regional Social Economic Infrastructure Development Programme (PISEW).
“Programmes like this are certainly needed for all regions across our nation. This infrastructure programme is vital as it connects villages and provides broad benefits, not only for transportation but also for education, health, agriculture, trade, and more,” said Ibas in his statement on Thursday (7/5/2026).
Ibas made this remark during the inauguration event themed ‘PISEW Programme Connects Villages, Empowers Economy, Ensures Prosperity for the People’, held on Tuesday (5/7).
Ibas assessed that village development must deliver tangible benefits directly felt by the community, from easier access to education and faster health services to a more dynamic village economy.
Nevertheless, Ibas also reminded that national budget constraints must be addressed wisely. Therefore, he believes that development programmes like PISEW must be sustained and utilised as effectively as possible.
“Programmes like this are never sufficient, but with the limited national budget, we can certainly make the most of it,” he continued.
Not only focusing on construction, Ibas also placed great emphasis on maintaining the built infrastructure to ensure its benefits are felt in the long term by the community.
“Maintained and preserved so that damaged roads that have not yet been repaired can be addressed in the future,” he asserted.
The inauguration atmosphere was warm and familial. Villagers appeared enthusiastic in welcoming the direct presence of their representative, who has been consistently advocating for development in Pacitan. For the village community, Ibas’s arrival is not just a show of attention but proof that the region remains an important priority in ongoing struggles.
On the same occasion, Ibas also appreciated the community spirit of gotong royong that contributed to the success of the village infrastructure development. According to him, development will not run optimally without community involvement.
“Thank you to the residents who have fully participated and worked together through gotong royong to succeed this programme, while also inviting the community to be creative and innovative in self-reliance,” he stated.
With full hope, Ibas inaugurated the connecting road between Ngile Village and Bubakan Village as part of the PISEW programme that has been implemented in various regions of Indonesia.
Also present at the event were Pacitan Regent Indrata Nur Bayu Aji, Chairman of the Pacitan Regency DPRD Arif Setia Budi, Head of the Housing and Settlement Area Office (PERKIM) Heru Tunggul, Head of Ngile Village Ismail, Head of Bubakan Village Mustakim, Chairman of the Democrat Party Faction Bagina Rahardian, as well as all members of the Democrat Party Faction who attended to support the event.
