SANTA CRUZ COMMEMORATION: East Timorese mourners lead a
procession in the state capital of Dili to commemorate the Nov.
12, 1991 Santa Cruz massacre as they hold banners and posters
demanding justice for victims and the country. Reports said that
more than 200 East Timorese were gunned down by then Indonesian
Armed Forces troops when they attempted to place wreaths on the
grave of independent activist Sebatiao Gomes who was shot to
death by troops while taking refuge in a church on Oct. 28, 1991.
The procession took place on Wednesday.
