Moscow (ANTARA) - International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi has called for his agency to be involved in overseeing the implementation of a potential nuclear agreement between the United States and Iran. “The most important aspect of this agency’s role is verification, and the fact that we will be part of the settlement is a very important formality that must exist,” Grossi said on the sidelines of an IAEA seminar, as quoted by South Korean news agency Yonhap. Earlier, Iranian news agency Mehr published several provisions in a draft memorandum with the United States regarding the cessation of conflict between the two countries. One point in the draft stipulates that both parties must hold negotiations within 60 days to reach a final agreement on the nuclear issue. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi previously stressed that Tehran insists the issue of highly enriched uranium be resolved within Iranian territory. On the other hand, United States President Donald Trump stated that the US would remove enriched uranium from Iran when the situation is conducive and the right time has come.
