I miss daily hassles
I miss daily hassles
It is funny how memories are remembered. I spent the last two
years of my life working as a bule in Jakarta, and like many of
those who submit to "Your Letters" and those that read the
column, I can readily relate to the daily hassles discussed.
Strange thing is, now that I am back well within the comfort
zone of my home country, nearly all of the memories I have of
Jakarta are the good times, the wonderful people met, the places
visited and the interesting things done. Even the daily hassles
are soon forgotten or simply become amusing antidotes to share
with friends.
Stranger still, I kind of miss those daily hassles, if nothing
else they keep life interesting.
