Hyundai Santa Fe Crashes into Jusuf Kalla's Residence Fence, Case Resolved Through Mediation
Jakarta, VIVA – The incident involving a white Hyundai Santa Fe that crashed into the fence of the 10th and 12th Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla (JK), on Jalan Brawijaya, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, has concluded with mediation.
The driver, identified by the initials HP (35), has reportedly expressed willingness to compensate for the damage to the fence of the prominent national figure’s residence. Police are now facilitating communication between both parties.
Head of Public Relations at the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Murodih, said the resolution was being handled amicably.
“We understand that there are plans for mediation to repair the damage there,” he told reporters on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.
Based on preliminary investigations, the single-vehicle accident is believed to have occurred because the driver lost concentration whilst driving home towards the Jagakarsa area in the early hours of the morning.
“The driver was probably drowsy, causing her to lose control,” he said.
The forceful impact caused the house fence to sustain significant damage, with sections torn off, whilst the front of the vehicle was badly crumpled. However, there were no fatalities in the incident.
“No [fatalities],” he confirmed.
