Hyundai Premium Courtesy Car: A Solution and Promotion Strategy from HMID
Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) has introduced a practical solution and a savvy product introduction strategy through the launch of the Hyundai Premium Courtesy Car programme in Jakarta on Thursday (16/4/2026). This service is akin to the proverb: with one stroke of the oar, two or three islands are crossed. On one hand, HMID helps its customers remain mobile. On the other, it opens up a more subtle and effective promotional space. The programme allows customers to borrow a Hyundai vehicle for free while their car is at an official workshop. No fees, no complicated conditions. “Hyundai is committed to ensuring that customer mobility and peace of mind are maintained,” said President Director of Hyundai Motors Indonesia, Kenny Lee. Chief Operating Officer of HMID, Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, emphasised that the service is widely available across the Hyundai Indonesia network. “We have more than 100 branches plus nearly 90 workshops. We ensure that every workshop has units available for loan,” he stated. A total of around 250 units have been prepared. Interestingly, about 170 units are electric vehicles, including the Hyundai Ioniq 5. “We look at the dealers that need them. The majority of the service units are placed at dealers on Java Island,” said Frans. This is where the second strategy comes into play. Consumers who previously used conventional fuel vehicles now have the opportunity to try electric vehicles. Without needing to visit a showroom, without a formal test drive.
