Seoul (ANTARA) - Hyundai Motor Co., Kia Corp., and BMW Korea will voluntarily recall 107,158 vehicles from 37 models due to manufacturing defects, the South Korean transport ministry said on Wednesday (February 25), as quoted by Yonhap.

The manufacturing defects potentially pose a fire risk.

According to the ministry, 37,690 units of four Hyundai models, including the Kona Electric, will undergo corrective action.

Meanwhile, Kia will recall 1,590 electric vehicle (EV) Niro units due to the same Battery Management System (BMS) software issue.

Separately, BMW Korea will recall 67,878 vehicles from 32 models, including the 520i and 320i, due to defective starter motor components that could cause a fire.
