Hyundai Ioniq V revealed with 66.8kWh battery and up to 620km range

Hyundai’s fastback-style electric vehicle, the Ioniq V, has been revealed with a 66.8kWh LFP battery offering a range of up to 620 kilometres under CLTC standards. The model, developed by the Beijing Hyundai joint venture, measures nearly five metres in length and features a 27-inch display alongside a 168kW (225hp) electric motor. Hyundai officially introduced the Ioniq V at the Beijing Auto Show 2026 as part of the South Korean automaker’s efforts to strengthen its position in the Chinese market. According to China EV DataTracker, Hyundai sold 6,500 units in China in May 2026, an 8.9 per cent decline compared to the same period the previous year. Prior to its official debut, the Ioniq V had been spotted multiple times during road testing in China. The base variant pairs a battery with a 140kW (188hp) electric motor, enabling a CLTC range of 520 to 540 kilometres depending on configuration. This battery pack weighs 395kg, while the vehicle’s kerb weight ranges from 1,707 to 1,737kg. The long-range variant is equipped with a 66.8kWh LFP battery produced by CATL, combined with a 168kW (225hp) motor. This configuration delivers a CLTC range of 620 to 650 kilometres. The battery pack weighs 465kg, and kerb weight falls between 1,782 and 1,808kg. In terms of dimensions, the Hyundai Ioniq V measures 4,900mm in length, 1,890mm in width, and 1,470mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900mm. The exterior design features an aerodynamic silhouette with a bonnet that visually merges with the windscreen, creating a modern and futuristic appearance. Other exterior features include semi-hidden door handles and split headlamps. Inside the cabin, Hyundai has installed a 27-inch dual screen that serves as the vehicle’s infotainment hub. The Ioniq V is also equipped with an advanced driver-assistance system co-developed with Momenta and an 800-volt electrical architecture that supports faster charging and improved energy efficiency.
