Jakarta (ANTARA) - The latest Hyundai Ioniq V sedan has appeared in documents from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) with options for battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) drive systems. Reported by Carnewschina on Saturday local time, the Ioniq V was previously introduced at Auto China 2026 as a new electric sedan developed specifically for the Chinese market. In terms of design, the Hyundai Ioniq V features a low fastback body in sedan style, equipped with frameless doors, large aerodynamic wheels, and wide “star-track” style rear lights. This sedan measures 4,900 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,470 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. MIIT documents indicate that Hyundai is using the global E-GMP platform with two powertrain options for the Ioniq V, namely the pure BEV version and EREV. The model also integrates technology partners, including Momenta, Qualcomm, CATL, Baidu’s Wenxin large language model, and Volcano Engine. The model is expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295 cockpit chip along with dual AI support for large models. At the Beijing Auto Show in April, Hyundai Motor CEO José Muñoz stated that the carmaker plans to launch 20 new models in China over the next five years, including electric vehicles, energy-saving electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and petrol vehicles.
