Hyundai and Shell Extend Global Partnership, Launch Customer Programme in Indonesia
Hyundai Motor Company and Shell have extended their global partnership, which has been in place since 2005, for the next five years. In Indonesia, this collaboration was marked by the execution of ‘Hyundai Sunday’, held simultaneously across the Hyundai dealer network on Sunday (20/09/2026).
The event featured various programmes for customers, ranging from after-sales services to family-oriented activities. Hyundai also presented awards to several customers based on their vehicle ownership and usage history.
“The Hyundai and Shell partnership, which has lasted for two decades, is part of our efforts to maintain service quality and meet evolving customer needs,” said Nina Violenty, Chief After Sales Officer (CASO) of Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID), in North Jakarta.
Fransiscus Soerjapranoto, Chief Operating Officer of HMID, explained that the cooperation includes the use of Shell lubricants in Hyundai’s after-sales services. “For over 20 years, Hyundai and Shell have built a global partnership to strengthen after-sales services through the use of premium Shell engine oils,” said Fransiscus.
He added that the extension of the partnership will continue in Indonesia through various activities related to vehicle services and customer engagement.
Noviandry Harmes, Vice President of Sales Direct Lubricants for Shell Indonesia, stated that the supply of lubricants for Hyundai vehicles in Indonesia is sourced from the Shell lubricant plant in Marunda, Bekasi. “For many years, Shell has supported Hyundai by providing premium engine oils designed to help maintain vehicle engine performance and protection,” said Noviandry.
During the Hyundai Sunday event, Hyundai and Shell presented awards to customers in three categories: Most Owned Hyundai Vehicle, Longest Hyundai Ownership, and Highest Hyundai Mileage. Winners were given the opportunity to use the Hyundai IONIQ 6 for one month through the Hyundai Subscribe service. Additionally, customers with the most consistent service histories at each dealership received service vouchers worth IDR 1 million.
One of the award recipients, Danar Dono Sumaryanto, shared that he has used several Hyundai vehicles over the years, ranging from the Hyundai Trajet to the Hyundai H-1. He currently uses the Hyundai Palisade and IONIQ 5 for his family’s needs. “That positive experience is why I continue to trust Hyundai as my choice for family vehicles,” said Danar.
In addition to the awards, Hyundai Sunday provided several vehicle services, such as free brake maintenance, vehicle inspections, GDS Scans, and vehicle washing. These activities were not limited to Hyundai owners; owners of other vehicle brands could also utilise the free inspection and washing services during the event.
The programme was held alongside various family activities at Hyundai dealerships, such as children’s colouring competitions, morning coffee sessions, yoga or pilates, and other interactive activities. For the colouring competition, Hyundai selected 10 entries to be displayed at the Hyundai Motorstudio Senayan Park.
Alongside the service programmes and customer activities, Hyundai also introduced vehicle purchase offers during the event. These included programmes for the Hyundai Stargazer starting from IDR 241 million, as well as additional incentives for the purchase of specific models.
Hyundai Sunday 2026 serves as a key component of the Hyundai and Shell activities following the five-year extension of their global partnership. The collaboration, which has been active since 2005, encompasses various activities related to vehicles and after-sales services.
