Hyppe launches local social media platform claimed to be free of negative content
Jakarta - Hyppe has emerged as a social media application developed by a domestic company in response to the various negative impacts from content circulating on foreign social media platforms. According to Hyppe’s CEO, Magindran, the prevalence of data breaches, scams, and pornographic content has become a serious concern. Therefore, Hyppe is designed as a healthier, safer, and more user-friendly social media platform for society, particularly the younger generation. “We aim to provide a social media free from pornography, hoaxes, and manipulation. This is important because the nation’s children are the backbone of the country,” said Magindran in his statement in Jakarta on Thursday. Magindran explained that users will earn points that can be exchanged for various rewards. Additionally, a profit-sharing system is implemented so that users are not merely required to watch advertisements without compensation. On the security front, Hyppe applies a strict verification system using ID cards and KYC (Know Your Customer) technology, ensuring that users have authentic identities. Artificial intelligence (AI) technology is also utilised to automatically detect negative content such as pornography, hate speech, and scams. “Negative content will be immediately detected and removed without waiting for reports,” he added. Magindran assured that user data protection is a priority. He stated that the platform is under government supervision and has undergone audits from relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs. In terms of legality, Hyppe is claimed to have obtained complete permits, both as a social media platform and for digital content trading activities. Furthermore, Hyppe opens up significant opportunities for MSME actors to grow. Business owners can promote their products for free through content and even direct transactions to their respective online stores. “MSMEs can sell directly on this platform without costs. This is our form of support for the local economy,” he explained.
