Hutama Karya: Progress on Senen Housing Construction Reaches 99.04 Percent
Accelerating construction is not merely about meeting deadlines, but about delivering faster solutions for communities who have long lived along railway tracks.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) reports that as of 28 April 2026, progress on the Senen Housing construction has reached 99.04%.
Acting Executive Vice President (EVP) for Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya, Hamdani, stated that this acceleration is intended to ensure the benefits of the housing can be felt by the community as soon as possible.
“Accelerating construction is not just about chasing completion dates, but about providing faster solutions for communities who have long lived along railway tracks. Therefore, we maintain a 24-hour work rhythm with reliable manpower and strict quality control so that the resulting housing remains safe, comfortable, and sustainable,” said Hamdani in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The state-owned enterprise has recorded significant progress on the Senen Housing project, as a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto’s instruction to provide decent housing for residents in the railway track embankment area of Kramat Ward, Senen Subdistrict, Central Jakarta.
As of 28 April 2026, progress on the housing and supporting facilities construction has reached 99.04%, approaching the completion target on 15 June 2026 and potentially finishing earlier than the initial schedule.
In line with the directives of the Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Management Agency (BP BUMN) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, as well as the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, the company is accelerating the completion of 324 housing units along with supporting facilities on approximately 1.61 hectares of land owned by InJourney Airports.
This programme is developed through collaboration between the government and state-owned enterprises as part of efforts to provide more decent, safe, and organised housing for low-income residents in the city centre.
This progress achievement is inseparable from the optimisation of workforce absorption on site. At the peak of implementation, hundreds of workers from the company and other Karya state-owned enterprises were deployed to ensure every construction stage runs according to plan.
Senen Housing is designed as decent temporary housing (huntara) with unit sizes of around 4.5 x 4.5 metres, equipped with beds, wardrobes, and other basic facilities.
The government and state-owned enterprises are also preparing communal facilities such as community gathering spaces, shared kitchens, laundry areas, separate male-female toilets, open spaces, and children’s play areas, as well as lighting systems, a one-gate system for entry and exit access, and CCTV for environmental security.
The construction of this housing is expected to be utilised by residents soon as a quick solution while the government prepares long-term urban area arrangements that are more orderly, safe, and humane.
“The company is committed to being a strategic partner of the government in providing social infrastructure that has a direct impact. We want Senen Housing to be an example of how measured construction acceleration can bring real change to residents in a short time,” said Hamdani.
