To mark Eid al-Adha 1447 AH, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) and its subsidiaries distributed sacrificial animals through their Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental (TJSL) ‘HK Peduli Sosial’ programme for communities near construction sites and business units. The distribution took place on Tuesday (26 May) across Indonesia from west to east.

This approach underscores Hutama Karya’s interpretation of social responsibility: wherever the company’s teams work on infrastructure projects, the benefits of Eid al-Adha reach local residents. Distribution was carried out via local mosque management councils (DKM), foundations, community organisations, village and neighbourhood secretariats near project sites and business units.

In Jakarta and its surroundings, deliveries included Masjid Al Hikmah HK Tower (East Jakarta), Masjid As Salam BPDI PU (South Jakarta), and Cipinang Cempedak Village. Hutama Karya also extended its reach to distant areas such as the Semarang-Demak Toll Road construction zone in Central Java, Bengkalis in Riau, the Adhyaksa Hospital construction site in Bali, and bridge projects in South Kalimantan, using Eid al-Adha as a bridge between construction activities and local communities.

Symbolic handovers in Jakarta were conducted by Hutama Karya’s TJSL Unit Head, Dianita Saraswati, to beneficiaries including representatives from Masjid Al Hikmah HK Tower, mosque management, foundations, and community organisations near project sites.

In total, Hutama Karya Group distributed 109 cattle and 191 goats — 300 sacrificial animals — for Eid al-Adha 1447 AH, an increase from last year’s 229. This year’s distribution covered the company’s operational areas across Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Lampung, Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, and East Java, as well as further regions including Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, South and East Kalimantan, North and West Sulawesi, and Papua — affirming the company’s presence along its operational corridor from west to east Indonesia.

Acting Executive Vice President and Corporate Secretary Hamdani stated that the distribution pattern aligning with operational areas demonstrates the company’s presence within communities. ‘For us, building infrastructure and being present for surrounding communities are inseparable. Wherever our teams work, we want Hutama Karya’s presence to benefit local residents — one way is through sacrificial animal distribution,’ Hamdani said on Wednesday (27 May).

Hamdani further explained that all aid was prioritised for direct reach to those in need, including the less fortunate, elderly, and orphans. ‘Our simple hope is that no local community misses out on the warmth of Eid al-Adha. This is the form of care we aim to sustain,’ he added.

The sacrificial animal distribution programme integrates with Hutama Karya’s TJSL pillars: community empowerment around operational areas, interfaith harmony implementation, and strengthening the company’s humanistic social role.

Through consistent implementation, Hutama Karya reaffirms its commitment to harmonising infrastructure development with social sustainability.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the distribution. Rico Eka Putra Rifai, head of Cipinang Cempedak Village, thanked the company for its consistent community engagement. ‘We appreciate Hutama Karya’s presence in the community. This sacrificial animal aid is highly meaningful for us and local residents, especially those in need. May it bring blessings to the company,’ he said.

Masjid Istiqlal received 63 cattle, 18 goats, and one sheep, scheduled for slaughter on 28 May 2026.
