Husband and Wife in Bekasi Allegedly Beaten with Blunt Object

Bekasi – A husband and wife in Perumahan Prima Lingkar Asri, Jatibening, Pondok Gede, Bekasi, became victims of alleged assault on Monday, 2 March 2026.

EU (65) died, whilst his wife, PW (60), remains in critical condition after allegedly being beaten with a blunt object.

“For now, based on the hospital doctor’s assessment, there was blunt force trauma to the back of the head,” said Kasat Reskrim Polres Metro Bekasi Kota, Kompol Andi Muhammad Iqbal at the scene on Monday.

The couple’s son usually woke his mother around 03:00 WIB. However, on the day of the incident, no one woke him. An alarm only sounded around 04:15 WIB.

“Eventually the victim took the initiative to go downstairs to wake his mother. There was no response. What he heard was a sound like someone snoring,” explained Andi.

Sensing something was amiss, the son panicked and requested help from residents, but found no one.

“The victim’s son was shocked and panicked, then asked neighbours for help but nobody was around. So the victim called his family,” added Andi.

When family members arrived, they forced open a window glass as the main door was difficult to access.

When found, EU was on the bed covered in blood, whilst PW was lying on the bedroom floor.

EU was pronounced dead at the scene, whilst PW was immediately taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Additionally, police noted several items suspected to have been stolen, including gold bracelets belonging to the victims and car keys.

EU’s body has been transported to Polri Kramat Jati Hospital for examination and autopsy, whilst PW remains receiving intensive care at Primaya Hospital.

The motive and perpetrator of this case remain under police investigation. At the scene, the police tape that had previously been placed at the two-storey white-painted house has been removed.
