Huntara Available, PP AMPG Urges Flood Victims in Aceh Tamiang to No Longer Stay in Tents
Jakarta, VIVA – The General Chairman of the Central Board of the Golkar Party’s Youth Wing (PP AMPG), Said Aldi Al Idrus, has urged all victims of the flash flood disaster in Aceh Tamiang to immediately leave the emergency evacuation tents. This appeal was made considering that the central government has distributed various recovery aids, ranging from rental cost subsidies, Temporary Housing (Huntara), food allowances, to furniture assistance and home repairs. With these facilities available, the public is expected to promptly move to more habitable places. Said Aldi emphasised this after handing over Eid packages from the General Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board, Bahlil Lahadalia, to flood-affected residents in Lintang Village, Aceh Tamiang, on Friday, 27 March 2026. He stressed that PP AMPG’s presence in Aceh Tamiang is not merely ceremonial but a tangible manifestation of service and consistent commitment that has been ongoing for more than three months post-disaster. “Insha Allah, PP AMPG remains committed to helping flood-affected residents. We will not abandon the people in the midst of difficult times after the disaster. Especially after the holy month of Ramadan, and now entering 7 Shawwal 1447 H, the community must already plan to return to a more decent and normal life as before the disaster,” said Said Aldi. Said Aldi revealed facts on the ground where many residents are still hesitant to leave their destroyed homes due to ancestral heritage land reasons. Additionally, there is a phenomenon where residents choose to stay vigilant in tents from morning to evening to receive direct aid from donors, even though at night they sleep in Huntara or rented houses. In response, the man who also serves as President of the World Mosque Youth provided understanding to the residents. “We always pray that conditions will soon recover and return to normal as before, but we urge the community who have received assistance to seek more suitable housing and not stay in tents anymore,” added Said Aldi. The escort and distribution of logistical aid carried out by PP AMPG during the holy month of Ramadan up to Eid al-Fitr 1447 H was acknowledged by Said as direct instructions from party leadership.
