Bekasi - Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Yassierli, flagged off the departure of 649 homebound travellers, who are Warung Makan Indomie (Warmindo) vendors along with their families, in a free homecoming programme at the Islamic Centre area, South Bekasi Subdistrict, Bekasi City, on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

The free homecoming programme was organised by PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk and involved a total of 11 bus fleets departing from Bekasi.

Overall, more than 11,300 Warmindo business owners along with their families were transported using 195 bus fleets spread across various regions, from Jabodetabek, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, to Malang.

“We from the Ministry of Manpower are present here as a form of appreciation and support for the company that shows care, attention, and support for Warmindo business owners,” Yassierli told the media at the location on Wednesday.

He assessed that the programme represents the company’s concern for small business actors, which can be emulated by other companies.

“This is togetherness in business. We want to build a sense of family, and we already have that DNA as the Indonesian nation,” he said.

Meanwhile, Indofood Director Suzi Indriani stated that this free homecoming programme is a form of appreciation to the MSME actors who have become an important part of Indomie’s product journey in Indonesia.

“This is not just an annual tradition, but a manifestation of our appreciation to the Warmindo partners who have grown together with Indomie for years,” said Suzi.

Suzi said that the free homecoming programme becomes a solution for the public amid rising transport ticket prices ahead of Eid.

Heri (57), a resident of South Bekasi, admitted to being greatly helped by the programme.

“I’m happy to join the free homecoming programme. It saves on travel costs. The money from sales can be saved for Eid celebrations in the village,” said Heri.

According to him, the high transport costs ahead of Eid was the main reason he chose the free homecoming programme.

“If there’s no programme like this, the savings would be used for travel costs. With this, it can be used for provisions for needs in the village,” he said.

For Heri, the free homecoming is not just a journey home, but an opportunity to return to the hometown more peacefully without being burdened by high transport costs.
