Jakarta — The Jakarta Metro Police’s Traffic Directorate has deployed hundreds of personnel to secure traffic during the peak celebrations of the National Chinese New Year Festival at Banteng Field, Central Jakarta.

The Head of Operational Development Division at the Traffic Directorate of Jakarta Metro Police, Brigadier Inspector Robby Hefados, stated that approximately 150 traffic police personnel have been assigned specifically for traffic management. Additionally, around 600 personnel from regional police units will be deployed, ensuring comprehensive security operations.

Parking facilities have been strategically arranged around the event venue, which is expected to be attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. VIP and invited guest parking has been designated at the Borobudur Hotel car park. The total capacity of all designated parking areas is approximately 1,000 vehicles. The general public has been allocated entrance points at the western and eastern gates of Banteng Field.

The Imlek Festival 2577 — Nusantara Harmony Chinese New Year, being held for the first time, runs from 17 February to 3 March 2026 at Banteng Field, Jakarta, under the tagline “Nusantara Harmony”.

The festival features various events including a Lantern Festival, culinary market, art and creativity exhibitions, an open-air museum showcasing Chinese cultural integration with local traditions, and free health checks. Film screenings ranging from “Jumbo” to “Pelangi di Mars” (Rainbow on Mars) will also be presented.

The peak celebrations will showcase mass barongsai and lion dance performances, traditional music and dance performances, national artists, and symbols of national harmony and unity.
