Hundreds of students and university members have crowded the Novotel Hotel in Bandar Lampung to attend the Lampung Financial Festival 2026.

According to observations by CNBC Indonesia, the students began arriving at 7:30 AM WIB, demonstrating significant enthusiasm despite the event only scheduled to commence at 9:00 AM WIB. Participants arrived from various institutions, including Lampung State University, Muhammadiyah University, SMA 11, SMA 15, and others.

The queue stretched from the entrance to the roadside. Despite the long wait, the students, dressed in school uniforms and university blazers, remained orderly while waiting for the doors to open. Some were seen taking photos and discussing the day’s agenda, which features prominent figures such as Raffi Ahmad, Nagita Slavina, and Chairul Tanjung.

Scheduled to take place over two days on 5-6 September 2026, the festival is organised by the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS). This initiative is part of an effort to increase public literacy regarding finance and deposit insurance.

The event represents the LPS’s commitment to providing broader and more in-depth financial education to the public. As a member of the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK)—alongside the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, and the Financial Services Authority (OJK)—the LPS holds the mandate and responsibility to enhance public financial literacy and inclusion.

The selection of Lampung as the festival venue was intentional, as the level of deposit insurance literacy among the Lampung population currently remains below the national average. The festival will feature a variety of engaging activities, ranging from inspirational talks and educational classes to music concerts and stand-up comedy.
