Bogor — Hundreds of personnel comprising police, military members, and officials from relevant agencies have been deployed to secure the Puncak route in West Java Province during Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026, which runs from 13 to 25 March.

The Head of the Traffic Operations Division of Bogor Police Resort (Polres), Inspector Ardian Novianto Azhari, stated that security operations are being conducted in an integrated manner from Simpang Gadog in Bogor Regency to the border of Cianjur Regency.

At the Integrated Post at Simpang Gadog, Bogor, on Saturday, Ardian informed the news agency that personnel deployed to secure the Puncak route include 128 officers from the Traffic Unit of Bogor Police Resort and 60 personnel from the Transport Service.

Additionally, there are 10 officers from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), 10 officers from the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), and 30 members of the Civil Police Unit.

Bogor Police Resort also receives support from 100 personnel providing operational control from the Police Rapid Response Corps, 50 personnel from the Security Maintenance Unit of the Police Force, and 10 crowd control personnel from the West Java Regional Police.

“In total, there are quite many personnel on the Puncak route, and God willing, we can deploy them to anticipate any traffic congestion that may occur,” said Ardian.

Ardian stated that security personnel are distributed at traffic control points and security posts along the Puncak route, which is approximately 22.8 kilometres long.

During the Ramadan month and the Eid al-Fitr holiday break, vehicle traffic monitoring on the route with its many uphill stretches and sharp bends is being intensified to reduce congestion and lower traffic accident rates.

On the second day of Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026 on Saturday, officers focused on security operations and anticipating vehicle traffic congestion.
