Hundreds of personnel clean under the Pasar Rebo flyover
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 150 personnel from various units conducted a mass cleanup operation in the area under the Pasar Rebo flyover, Susukan Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta, on Sunday.
“This activity was carried out in preparation for the upcoming inspection and inauguration of sports facilities by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung,” said the Secretary of East Jakarta City, Eka Darmawan in Jakarta, Sunday.
The cleanup was conducted to ensure that the area under the Pasar Rebo flyover is ready for use by the public as a public space and sports facility.
According to him, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, is scheduled to inspect and inaugurate the Boxing Arena located in the area under the flyover on Monday (18/5) afternoon.
“The Governor is planned to be present tomorrow afternoon to inspect and inaugurate the boxing arena in this area,” said Eka.
In addition to the boxing arena, he added that other sports facilities are also available in the area under the flyover, such as a skateboard arena which can later be used by the public for daily activities.
“The boxing arena and skateboard park under the Pasar Rebo flyover will be a place for residents to exercise every day,” said Eka.
Eka also asked the PPSU (Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling Officers), Task Force (Satgas) for Parks, Bina Marga (Roads Agency), and other cross-sectoral elements to routinely carry out maintenance, both outside and inside the area under the flyover.
“We want the community to continue to feel safe and comfortable when carrying out activities in this location,” he said.
The cleanup involved PPSU officers, Satpol PP (Civil Service Police Unit), Bina Marga Task Force, Water Resources (SDA), Parks and City Forests (Tamhut), Fire Department, and Transportation from the village, sub-district to administrative city levels.
In this activity, two fire trucks were deployed to spray the ceiling of the flyover area to the sidewalk and median. Officers also cleaned the sidewalks using brushes and detergent so that the area looks cleaner and more comfortable. In addition, PPSU officers together with Satpol PP and Bina Marga Task Force were seen cleaning several points filled with dust and dirt. Meanwhile, the Parks and City Forests Task Force carried out arrangement and tidying of ornamental plants on the green lanes around the location. On the other hand, the SDA Task Force also participated in cleaning and tidying up drainage channels to ensure that the surrounding environment remains clean and does not cause puddles when it rains.
