Hundreds of micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) owners from the Greater Jakarta area participated in the Gen Matic training at the Jakarta Creative Hub on Monday (29/6), aimed at improving their ability to manage businesses within the digital ecosystem, including the use of marketing features and fulfilling business legality requirements.

“The digital ecosystem is developing dynamically and rapidly, so business owners need periodic knowledge refreshers to adjust relevant business strategies and improve business performance. The training materials provided by the Shopee MSME Campus team help business owners understand digital features that can make them more productive, manage their businesses more efficiently, and increase their business capacity sustainably,” said Yuana Rochma Astuti, Director of Digital Content at the Ministry of Creative Economy, in a statement on Tuesday.

During the event, participants received materials from BNSP-certified trainers from the Shopee MSME Campus on strategies to optimise stores on digital platforms, ranging from utilising shopping campaign programmes and managing promotions to using advertising features to boost sales.

In addition to digital marketing training, the organisers also provided consultation services on business legality and licensing in collaboration with various parties to enhance the credibility and competitiveness of MSME products.

Balques Manisang, Deputy Director of Government Relations at Shopee Indonesia, said the training aims to help business owners utilise digital features more effectively while understanding the importance of legal documents and product standardisation.

“Through this training, we equip sellers to use Shopee’s features and promotional programmes more effectively so they can enjoy positive business growth. Participants also receive education on legal documents and product standardisation that can support them in increasing business credibility and moving their businesses up to the next level,” she said.

One of the training participants, Nofri H., said the materials on utilising store data, advertising, and promotional strategies gave him new insights into developing his business on digital platforms.

Another participant, Eri, who owns a processed fish business, admitted the training helped her understand strategies for marketing products online, managing promotional programmes, and building customer loyalty to improve her store’s performance.
