Cimahi City’s Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) is still conducting damage assessments from a tornado that struck on Friday, 6 March 2026 in the afternoon. Preliminary data indicates the severe wind affected three areas.

“Assessment activities are still ongoing. Generally speaking, there are three areas affected by the tornado,” said Fitriandy Kurniawan, Head of the BPBD, when confirmed.

Based on data collected by Cimahi City’s BPBD, the most severe damage is in Padasuka Village, Central Cimahi District. A total of 117 houses, two mosques and one neighbourhood office distributed across several neighbourhoods sustained light, moderate and severe damage.

“Most suffered light and moderate damage. There are also three houses with severe damage. Officers are still conducting assessments,” said Fitriandy.

Besides damaging houses, the tornado also left four people with minor injuries and they were taken to the nearest health facilities for treatment. “There are four people with minor injuries struck by roofs and so on,” he said.

Besides Padasuka, the tornado also affected 12 houses in Cimahi Village, Central Cimahi District. There were no casualties in that area.

“In Cimahi Village, 12 houses suffered light damage. Thank God there were no casualties,” he said.

Meanwhile, in the area near the Cimahi Municipal Government office complex, two trees fell. Specifically on Jalan Rd. Hardjakusumah and Jalan Ciawitali. The fallen trees damaged vendor carts and a vehicle.
