Hundreds of High School Graduates in West Jakarta Join Domestic Internship Programme
Jakarta (ANTARA) - As many as 200 high school graduates and equivalent in West Jakarta are participating in a domestic internship programme organised by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government on Monday.
Head of the West Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency (Nakertransgi) Jackson D. Sitorus stated that the 200 participants are divided into two internship waves.
“The first wave consists of 120 people, with the rest in the second wave in June 2026,” said Jackson when contacted in Jakarta on Monday.
Jackson continued that the six-month internship programme involves dozens of companies.
“There are 13 companies in West Jakarta involved in this programme,” he said.
He added that during the internship, participants will receive several benefits, namely a pocket money allowance of Rp2.5 million per month, BPJS Manpower (JKK and JKM), certificates, and opportunities to continue their careers after the programme ends.
“During the six-month internship, they will be accompanied by mentors to learn while working. Then there will be an evaluation from the companies, in line with instructions from the Assistant for Economy and Finance, around 30 percent will then be accepted to work at the companies,” he added.
It is known that the internship programme for high school graduates and equivalent in 2026 is joined by 1,000 participants across Jakarta, selected from around 10,000 applicants. The programme will run for 6 months, from 4 May to 31 October 2026.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is collaborating with 67 companies, allocating a budget of Rp15 billion from the 2026 APBD.
