A total of 360 high-achieving students from 20 junior high, senior high, and vocational schools in Cilegon and Batam have received the Roberto Rocca Scholarship from Tenaris. In Cilegon, Tenaris also donated 18 Lenovo desktop computers to SMAN 2 Krakatau Steel Cilegon through its School Refurbishment programme.

“At Tenaris, our commitment to Indonesia goes beyond industrial operations,” said Tenaris Asia Pacific Managing Director Philix Jinghua Liu. “We believe sustainable growth is built through investing in human resources, strengthening local capacity, and supporting the communities where we operate.”

He stated that education is a fundamental part of this commitment, as it plays a role in creating opportunities for the younger generation whilst contributing to Indonesia’s long-term development. The company also provided donations of goods to support community activities and post-disaster recovery for communities surrounding the company through the Al-Khairiyah Foundation in Cilegon.

The Community Relations event in Cilegon was attended by a representative of the Italian Embassy in Indonesia, the Mayor of Cilegon, the local education agency, and the recipient schools. Cilegon Mayor Robinsar expressed appreciation for Tenaris’s ongoing commitment to supporting education, local talent development, and job creation.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Mission of the Italian Embassy in Indonesia, Massimiliano Bertollo, emphasised the importance of responsible investment that creates long-term added value for local communities. This collaboration aims to recognise students’ achievements whilst strengthening strategic partnerships in preparing high-achieving young generations.

In Batam, 185 students received scholarships. Representing the Mayor of Batam, Special Advisor for Community and Human Resources Nurzalie affirmed that through its sustained commitment to education, Tenaris is helping to shape a talented, resilient, and globally competitive young generation in Indonesia, whilst contributing to the nation’s stronger development.

The Roberto Rocca Education Programme, initiated by Tenaris in Cilegon and Batam since 2014, has supported more than 2,000 high-achieving secondary and vocational school students through academic scholarship awards. Through ongoing collaboration with the government and the community, Tenaris is committed to continuing to develop local talent and delivering a long-term positive impact for communities in its operational areas.
