Hundreds of Gianyar Students to Compete in Bali School Sports Week 2026, Aim for Top Three

Deputy Regent of Gianyar, Anak Agung Gde Mayun, has officially sent off the district’s student-athlete contingent for the Bali School Sports Week (Porjar) 2026. The contingent comprises 590 students from primary, secondary, high school, and vocational institutions across Gianyar.

Acting Secretary of the Gianyar Youth and Sports Department, Gusti Ngurah Sukada, stated the event will take place across various venues from 5 to 10 June. This year, Gianyar’s athletes will compete in 35 sports disciplines after undergoing training centre sessions and preparatory workouts from 20 April to 30 May 2026.

Sukada added that the contingent is supported by 124 coaches, officials, 40 medical staff, and technical teams. The Gianyar Regency Government has set a target for the team to secure a top-three position in the competition.

He highlighted that Porjar serves as a platform to cultivate sportsmanship, discipline, hard work, and camaraderie among students. ‘Show that Gianyar’s athletes excel not just in performance but also in attitude and ethics. Treat every match as a valuable opportunity to learn and grow,’ Sukada said.

He urged coaches and officials to provide guidance and motivation, while ensuring the team maintains cohesion and health throughout the event.
