Hundreds of Free Water Tanks Distributed to Residents of East Jakarta
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Limited access to household clean water storage in several areas of East Jakarta remains a challenge for basic urban services. This situation has prompted various parties to strengthen water resilience through the provision of storage facilities at the household level.
PAM Jaya, together with the Jakarta Provincial TP PKK, has once again distributed aid in the form of 357 free water tanks to residents in several areas of East Jakarta. These areas have long faced limitations in clean water storage facilities at home.
PAM Jaya’s Director General, Arief Nasrudin, stated that the programme is part of the company’s concern. According to him, the distribution of free tanks is intended to help residents have better water availability at home.
“Through the distribution of these tanks, we aim to ensure that the community has more guaranteed water availability at home,” he said in his statement on Thursday (7/5/2026).
According to him, the distribution of free water tanks is not merely about providing facilities. More than that, the presence of tanks can impact family health and alleviate the burden on residents in their daily lives.
Arief stated that his side has distributed a total of 1,000 free tanks to residents in various areas of Jakarta. The programme is part of the cooperation between TP PKK DKI Jakarta and Daya Wanita PAM JAYA, with a target distribution of 5,000 tanks throughout this year.
“Overall, from January to 7 May 2026, a total of 1,000 tanks have been distributed to the community in various areas of Jakarta,” he said.
In addition to the tank distribution, the event was also filled with the handover of rice aid to representatives of TP PKK and Dasawisma. The group also inspected the homes of beneficiary residents where the tanks had been installed.
The programme is expected to strengthen household water resilience while reducing residents’ expenditure on daily clean water needs, amid ongoing disparities in access to water infrastructure in urban areas.
It is known that the event was attended by the Chair of TP PKK Jakarta, Hani Pramono Anung, the Vice Chair of TP PKK Jakarta, Dewi Rano Karno, the Chair of Dharma Wanita Persatuan Province of Jakarta, Lisniawati Uus, the Chair of Daya Wanita PAM JAYA, Lya Arief Nasrudin, as well as officials from TP PKK East Jakarta.
