Jakarta - As many as 321 foreign nationals were caught red-handed while operating online gambling websites at an office building on Hayam Wuruk Street in West Jakarta.

“The perpetrators were arrested in the act. In other words, the perpetrators were carrying out operations or activities related to online gambling,” said Director of General Criminal Acts (Dirtipidum) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General of Police Wira Satya Triputra, during a press conference at the raid location in West Jakarta on Saturday (9/5/2026).

These foreign nationals are suspected to be part of an international network, with operations running in an organised and structured manner.

The arrested foreign nationals hail from several countries, including 57 from China, 228 from Vietnam, 11 from Laos, 13 from Myanmar, 3 from Myanmar, 5 from Thailand, and 3 from Cambodia.

“Investigators found approximately 75 domains and websites suspected of being used for gambling, employing specific character combinations to avoid blocking,” said Wira.

Investigators have seized various pieces of evidence, including safes, passports, mobile phones, laptops, personal computers, and cash in several foreign currencies.

The investigation has been ongoing since Thursday (7/5/2026) and continues to this day.

The suspects are threatened with Articles 426 and/or 607 in conjunction with Article 20 and/or Article 21 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code and/or Law No. 1 of 2026 on Penalty Adjustments.
