Hundreds of facilities at US military bases reportedly damaged by Iran

Washington (ANTARA) - Iranian strikes damaged and destroyed hundreds of facilities at United States (US) military bases in the Middle East during Operation Epic Fury, according to a Lead Inspector General report reviewed by RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

“The Iranian strikes damaged and destroyed hundreds of buildings and structures at US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman and Jordan during the conflict,” the document stated.

The Pentagon has also acknowledged that dozens of US aircraft were destroyed or damaged in the attacks.

Earlier, on 28 February, the United States and Israel began attacking a number of targets in Iran, which prompted retaliatory strikes from the Iranian side.

In mid-June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum to end hostilities, although both sides subsequently resumed attacks on one another. To date, the conflict remains unresolved.

Meanwhile, in the early days of the conflict, Iran’s retaliatory strikes against Gulf states caused serious damage to at least nine US military facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, according to CNN.
