Hundreds of Creative Economy Players Crowd The Local Market in SCBD
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Hundreds of creative economy players producing a diverse range of products participated in The Local Market Pasar Wiwitan bazaar held at SCBD Park, Central Jakarta, on Saturday.
“There are more than 200 creative economy players involved here, and this is just the beginning, as it will continue during the first week of every month,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar during the inauguration in Jakarta on Saturday.
She stated that MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) players require a stage to showcase their production, and this event allows various creative economy sub-sectors to display their products. “This activity will not stop here but will continue every month,” she added.
According to Umar, The Local Market commenced on Saturday morning at 07:00 WIB, featuring a Fresh Market attended directly by farmers. This was followed by a bazaar consisting of 200 strictly curated creative economy players from across Indonesia.
She noted that because the event is located in the premium SCBD Park Sudirman area, the products sold must undergo a high level of curation. “Therefore, visitors can see high-quality Indonesian products directly,” she said.
She expressed her appreciation to the SCBD area management for providing the opportunity to host the event and successfully facilitating hundreds of creative economy players in selling their products. She noted that the MSME participants present are from not only Jakarta but from all over Indonesia. “The Local Market serves as a stage for creative economy players in Indonesia,” she remarked.
She added that the event was made possible through strong collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and the SCBD management. “Everything is achievable through discussion and a shared love for Indonesia. We are advancing creative economy players by hosting this event,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), Veronica Tan, noted that strong collaboration is a key strength in introducing local products to the public. “We are pleased that this activity provides a space for parents and children to spend time in a premium location in the capital,” she said.
She mentioned that the SCBD area has been specifically made available as a space for children and parents to socialise during the weekend. Visitors can engage in sports, learn at available stands, and shop at Pasar Wiwitan. “We support this activity, and there will be two days every month during the weekend that families can utilise to spend time here,” she concluded.
