High volatility is likely to continue until the end of May.

HUNDREDS of content creators from various regions in West Java (Jabar), mostly from Generation Z, gathered at the Creator Playdate event with Vici Society held in Bandung on Saturday (16/5). This indicates that the digital creative world continues to develop, including in Bandung.

The activity was not only a forum for friendship and networking among creators but also featured educational sessions on strategies for building personal branding and how to survive in the face of fierce competition in the digital content industry.

Two young content creators, Rossa Farahdiba and Vickeu, were the main speakers. They shared their career journeys and important tips for novice creators to thrive in the fast-paced digital era.

Vice President of E-Commerce at Victoria Care Indonesia, William Budiarsa, stated that the Creator Playdate is part of the company’s efforts to strengthen collaboration with creators, especially in West Java.

“We want to collaborate more deeply with content creators in West Java, especially in Bandung, so that they can introduce our products,” he said.

ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY

According to William, the company’s current approach focuses not only on increasing brand awareness but also on creating economic opportunities for content creators.

“We want to provide education and empower creators to increase their income through the content they create,” he added.

William mentioned that the collaborative concept is more focused on the real experiences of product users. This ensures that the content produced is considered more honest and relatable to the audience, with a desire to obtain reviews from users who genuinely use and love the company’s products.

“So they can convey their experiences honestly to their audience. Creator Playdate is part of a series of roadshows that have been held in Jakarta and will continue to other cities, including Surabaya,” he explained.

EXPERIENCE SHARING SESSION

In the experience-sharing session, Rossa said that consistency is the most important asset for surviving as a content creator in an increasingly competitive environment. “The most successful are those who are consistent. So you have to keep creating,” said Rossa.

Rossa added that creators also need to have their own character and uniqueness so that they are easily remembered by the audience. “Everyone needs something different to stand out. We also have to build personal branding so that people remember us,” she added.

Rossa also shared her experience dealing with negative comments on social media. She admitted that she chooses to filter constructive criticism and ignore hateful comments.

“I evaluate first, whether the comment is constructive or just hate. If it’s constructive, I use it as a lesson. If not, I just ignore it,” she said.

Rossa also recalled her early days as a content creator when she was doubted by those around her. However, consistency eventually proved that the profession of a creator can develop into a promising career. “I was once doubted, but I proved it with consistency. It turned out to be a career and even changed my life,” she said.

DIGITAL PLATFORM RULES

Meanwhile, Vickeu reminded the importance of understanding the rules of digital platforms so that creators do not fall into violations that can harm their accounts.

“Platforms now have policies. If you violate them, content can be banned, even without us realizing it,” he added.

Vickeu also believes that the main strength of a creator today lies not only in content ideas but also in the personal character they display.

“Find what is unique about yourself; that is what makes you different. Because now people are looking not only at ideas but also at the creator’s character,” he said.

According to Vickeu, the current trend in digital content prioritizes how content is delivered and the personality of the creator rather than just the topic being discussed.

The most popular content now has a strong character. The way of telling stories makes it interesting. He encouraged beginners not to be afraid to start creating content because opportunities in the digital industry are still wide open.

“Content can come from anything, even short videos can be content. So just start,” he concluded.
