Humpuss gets new tanker

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed tanker company PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi said on Friday that the latest addition to its tanker fleet had started operating.

Humpuss said the 3,500 deadweight ton (DWT) tanker named Dasa Samudra will transport fuel products under a 10-year contract with state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina.

Humpuss, which is controlled by former president Soeharto's youngest son Hutomo Mandala Putra, said the company invested $7.5 million to build the tanker, which was financed by a loan provided by South Korea's Hyundai Corp.

Humpuss now has 10 tankers, all of which are used to ship crude oil products for Pertamina; six transporting fuel, four methanol and one liquefied natural gas (LNG). (jsk)
