Humiliating Israel: Pro-Iran Hackers Breach Personal Phone of Former Zionist Army Chief of Staff

A hacking group allied with Iran has claimed to have obtained at least 19,000 sensitive files related to the personal phone of former Israeli Army Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi. In a statement posted on its website on Thursday, the Handala Hack Team said it had conducted a multi-year operation against Halevi. The group gained access to what they claim are more than 19,000 secret images and videos from the most important meetings. “All your secret facilities, crisis rooms, maps, and even the smallest details of your command centre have long been an open book to us,” the group stated. Marking what could be one of the most serious cyber incidents involving a senior figure in Israel’s security establishment, the files—some of which were viewed by Middle East Eye—show Halevi meeting with Arab officials. The hacking group has published dozens of photos and videos showing Halevi visiting military bases, meeting with pilots, conducting briefings and meetings, and exercising in his office. Some family life photos of the former army chief have also been published, along with Halevi’s and his wife’s identity cards.
